News With Context

The Caravel’s Middle East & Central Asia section is devoted to reporting underreported and unbiased news in the region with a focus on developments that shape the lives of the diverse populations living in the area. We strive to shed light on the complex tensions in the social, political, and economic spheres. We focus not only on reporting breaking news in the region but also on investigating the root causes of conflict and uncovering common misperceptions. In adopting a thematic rather than simply a geographic approach to news coverage, we hope to provide readers with a more nuanced understanding of the region and its actors.
