For the first time, the Roman Catholic church breaks from its past and issues praise for the homosexual and LGBT community at the Synod assembly. Pope Francis has helped traditional leaders become more moderate and admit that homosexuals have "gifts and qualities to offer." Even though gay marriage is not being addressed, this is a big step forward. This comes 8 days after Catalonia passed an anti-homophobic law.
