Liberia - Oct 17

Liberia has begun discussions with major oil companies in hopes of encouraging bids for drilling in four blocks off of the nation’s coast. Liberia has 17 total offshore blocks, 12 of which belong to international oil companies, and the exploitation is expected to bring commercial viability to the country. With the current Ebola outbreak, these bids have become far more important in helping to maintain Liberia’s economy as well as attract more international attention to the fight against the virus.
